“This is an event organised by PRODUCERS to showcase their produce and the best of TASMANIA'S north west.”

Come and enjoy some of North West Tasmania's finest food and beverages. To make the most of beautiful spring days we have decided to move the event to Saturday the 9th November 2024. It will tie in nicely with the finals of MuralFest which bring thousands of people to Sheffield each year. Taste of the North West is a showcase of Tasmania’s North West region’s finest food and beverages, held in Sheffield’s picturesque King George V Park with majestic Mount Roland as a backdrop. Past events have drawn estimated crowds of more than 4,000 people who enjoyed a range of regional produce including rabbit pies, German-style smallgoods, free range lamb sausages, pulled pork tacos and ale and beef pies, all washed down with locally produced beer, wine, cider and fruit wine. In 2012 the committee offered a new concept – The Larder – for small businesses producing food items such as preserves, olive oil, jams and chutneys. The Larder provides small businesses with exposure to motivated consumers at a very low cost and is supported by publicity around the event. Taste of the North West focuses on value added local produce with clear links to north-west Tasmanian producers. Food and beverages will feature predominantly north west Tasmanian produce. Preferred suppliers are businesses based in north west Tasmania. Patron entry is free for the Taste of the North West, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere in the park, with the event catering for locals and for gourmet tourists from further afield.
